The design objective was to create a style that feels like an old cottage style from the exterior combined with an interior that is bold and simple. In regards to site design, the objective was to orient the house to maximize southern sun exposure, providing heat to the thermal mass of the concrete floors. Finally, the focus was to provide low maintenance, fire resistant exterior design utilizing non-combustible roofing material, stucco finish siding, concrete window sills, and concrete patio and entry steps.
